The U.S. proposed a two-state solution to the Israel and Palestine conflict and both sides hate it. It may be the one thing they agree on.
Violence has ramped up between the two neighboring people. Both sides want the U.S. to do more but the U.S. does not want to be dragged into taking sides.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said this on Tuesday in Jerusalem: “Restoring calm is our immediate task. But over the longer term, we have to do more than just lower tensions.”
Peaceful coexistence is a nice idea but it just does not seem to be working out that way. A recent poll showed that only one third of people living in that region think it is a viable idea.
