U.S. Government Censoring Americans

A whistleblower confessed to journalist Michael Shellenberger that the government is indeed censoring Americans under the guise of “anti-disinformation” and that they know it’s illegal. Shellenberger is calling this the CTIL Files which stands for Cyber Threat Intelligence League. He claims that these revelations are even worse than the Facebook and Twitter Files, which were bad enough.

The whistleblower shows that the censorship was done by multiple government agencies but managed by the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and included “partnerships with civil society organizations and commercial media, and the use of sock puppet accounts and other offensive techniques.”

Government officials used work-around tactics through “over 100 government agencies and nongovernmental organizations” because they knew that the government didn’t have the “legal authority” to do what it had planned to do. They used these channels to censor American citizens and elected officials with “a heavy focus on stopping disfavored narratives, not just wrong facts.”

What are disfavored narratives? Anti-lockdown narratives are one example.

The groups used tactics such as discrediting individuals and even tried calling for “banks to cut off financial services to individuals who organize rallies or events.”

We’ve said it before and we will say it again: misinformation campaigns are terrifying and inappropriate government control mechanisms. A Congressional hearing about the Censorship Industrial Complex will take place on Thursday of this week.
