Supreme Court Messes With Texas

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the Biden administration can gain access to areas of Texas in order to re-open the southern border by removing barriers. Texas had deployed its National Guard to prevent the Biden administration from doing just that.

This is a temporary ruling that grants the federal government access through an injunction.

Chief Justice John Roberts, along with Justices Amy Coney Barrett, Ketanji Brown Jackson, Elena Kagan, and Sonia Sotomayor all sided with the Biden administration without an explanation for their vote. Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh voted against this.

Does this make sense? The Biden administration is continuing to build former President Trump’s border wall but where a barrier exists, they want to tear it down? The administration said that the razor wire blocks prevented Border Patrol agents from making “context-dependent, sometimes split-second decisions about how to enforce federal immigration laws while maintaining public safety.”
