President Trump laid out his stance on abortion and fertility in a new campaign video. For single-issue abortion voters, this is an important clarification.

The former president says that he supports the end of Roe v. Wade and that each state must decide on its own abortion laws.

“My view is now that we have abortion where everybody wanted it from a legal standpoint, the states will determine by vote or legislation or perhaps both. And whatever they decide must be the law of the land,” he said. “Many states will be different…At the end of the day, this is all about the will of the people.”

He correctly states that even pro-abortion legal scholars knew that Roe v. Wade was a problematic law enforcing a federal law where a state law should be. He says that he supports abortion “exceptions for rape, incest and life of the mother.”
