Did Germany “dodge a far-right bullet,” as the media suggests? Elections happened over the weekend and according to preliminary results, “the centre-left Social Democrats (SPD) appear headed for a narrow election victory over the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) in the eastern German state of Brandenburg.”

Is the AfD far-right? They are in favor of slowing immigration and war funding. So extreme! The media says that they “invoke Nazi past” with no real way to quantify that. The SPD is the party of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. This party has been losing support but somehow they pulled it off this weekend by a hair.
