The United States launched multiple strikes in Syria on Monday. US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that it launched “strikes against nine targets in two locations associated with Iranian groups in Syria in response to several attacks on U.S. personnel in Syria over the last 24 hours.”

According to Antiwar.com, “the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that four members of Iran-aligned Shia militias were killed and nine were wounded.”

Iran has said that it will respond to Israel’s retaliation in October but it is unclear whether the United States would be included in this retaliation.

In Gaza, Reuters reports that “an Israeli airstrike killed seven people late Monday at a café near the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis, Palestinian medics said, bringing the death toll from Israeli strikes since Sunday night to at least 37.”

In Lebanon, at least 14 people were killed in what Antiwar calls the “northernmost attack on Lebanese soil.” The attack hit a “shelter for refugees in the far north village of Ain Yaaqoub.”

Israel has not commented on either attack.
