The first day of the Trump administration came with a surprising announcement that has a lot of people worried about…AI vaccines? Who voted for this?
The Trump administration announced The Stargate Project. It is: “a new company which intends to invest $500 billion over the next four years building new AI infrastructure for OpenAI in the United States….This project will not only support the re-industrialization of the United States but also provide a strategic capability to protect the national security of America and its allies.”
In the press conference from the Oval Office, Oracle founder Larry Ellison discussed individual mRNA cancer vaccines. He described it as such: “Using AI to look at the blood test, you can find the cancers that are actually seriously threatening the person…. Then beyond that, once we gene sequence that cancer tumor, you can then vaccinate the person, design a vaccine for every individual person to vaccinate them against that cancer. You can make that mRNA vaccine robotically, again using AI, in about 48 hours. So imagine early cancer detection, the development of a cancer vaccine for your particular cancer aimed at you. This is the promise of AI and the promise of the future.”
I’ll pass on this, not just because the mRNA technology is experimental and unproven but also for this reason: What if these blood tests become mandated for insurance and your insurance could be canceled if you refuse said vaccine?
Elon Musk shot down the project on X saying, “They don’t actually have the money.”
