The Trump administration is extending a buyout offer to members of the CIA. This is the same offer that federal workers were offered: If you retire, you will be paid for eight months and not have to come to work.

The Wall Street Journal reports that this move is to “bring the agency in line with President Trump’s priorities, including targeting drug cartels.” A CIA spokeswoman called this part of an effort to “infuse the agency with renewed energy.”

The agency has also reportedly frozen all new hires, even those that have been made job offers.

The Trump administration says that it wants the CIA to focus more on the Western hemisphere than Europe and the Middle East, where the CIA has done most of its work for decades.
