The Associated Press reports that Israeli forces dressed as women and medical workers to storm a hospital in Gaza. The Israeli military said that militants were using the hospital as a hideout but “did not provide evidence backing that claim.”
Militants or not, attacking hospitals is against international laws of war. At least three people are reported to have died in this attack.
The Jerusalem Post reports that Hamas has rejected a proposed ceasefire in peace negotiations that took place in Paris this weekend. Hamas insists that Israel “halt its Gaza offensive and withdraw from the Strip before any prisoner exchange takes place.”
Hamas has dozens of Israeli hostages; Israel has thousands of Palestinian hostages. Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed Al-Thani, who is helping to broker a peace deal, said that the hostage exchange would be phased with women and children first with an aim to ending the bombing in Gaza.
