Senator Marsha Blackburn says that “the Secret Service knew about a threat prior to President Trump walking on stage.” She learned this from “a briefing with the Secret Service and FBI.”
The incompetence continues to astound.
The Secret Service has blamed the failure on local police in Butler, Pennsylvania. They said that they assigned the building where the shooter was to the local police but a local policeman told Fox News that was not true. They say that they were only responsible for “strictly traffic detail.” Which would mean that the Secret Service is lying and blaming.
House Speaker Mike Johnson says that he will establish a task force in the House of Representatives to investigate the assassination attempt. How many investigations do we have now? Let’s try to count.
President Biden says that he has directed an independent review of the incident. The House Oversight Committee Chairman announced that it has opened an investigation into the shooting. The FBI says that it continues to investigate along with the Secret Service. The Department of Homeland Security said that it too will investigate. And now add Speaker Johnson’s investigation. Everyone is investigating. Will anyone be held responsible?
The House Oversight Committee sent a letter to Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle saying that they expect her to show up for questioning next Monday, July 22. Her attendance is now in question at the behest of DHS Deputy Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Why would he prevent her congressional testimony?
