The United Nations failed once again to pass a resolution that would lead to a ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinians of Gaza. The Israeli U.N. ambassador has taken to wearing a yellow star, reminiscent of the Holocaust until the U.N. condemns the October 7 attacks on Tel Aviv by Hamas.
This is extremely powerful imagery meant to assert that Israel is the first victims in this conflict. Not everyone thinks that this symbolism is appropriate, this writer included. Many Zionists that established the state of Israel failed to help the actual victims of the Holocaust and in fact collaborated with the Nazi party to expel the Jews from Eastern Europe in order to establish a Jewish state. Holocaust survivors were treated with prejudice when they arrived in Israel by those who left before the war and when reparations were paid from Germany, Mizrahi Jews who were also persecuted in Northern Africa were excluded from receiving these funds.
Does that give the nation state of Israel the right to use this symbol as they see fit? Isn’t Israel better served to de-escalate and put all efforts into rescuing hostages and ask for international support to respond to Hamas to prevent any future attacks?
Yad Vashem chairman Dani Dayan said this about the move on X. “This act disgraces the victims of the Holocaust as well as the state of Israel. The yellow star symbolises the helplessness of the Jewish people and their being at the mercy of others. We now have an independent state and a strong army. We are the masters of our own fate. Today we will fasten to our lapel a blue and white flag, not a yellow star.”
The United States and Israel voted against the ceasefire resolution because they assert that it would benefit Hamas. The vote itself is symbolic because it is non-binding. As The Guardian says, it is “more a snapshot of world opinion.”
President Biden signed an executive order on Monday that sets new guidelines for Artificial Intelligence. The order is meant to “establishes new standards for AI safety and security, protects Americans’ privacy, advances equity and civil rights, stands up for consumers and workers, promotes innovation and competition, advances American leadership around the world, and more."
The order calls for AI developers to test and share results of their tests with the government to make sure that there is no security threat. It also protects against a risk that AI develops “dangerous biological materials.” See the next story about how the U.S. may be doing that anyway.
The order also calls on the military to oversee AI development to “ensure that the United States military and intelligence community use AI safely, ethically, and effectively in their missions, and will direct actions to counter adversaries’ military use of AI.”
It also calls for AI to ensure “fairness” and “civil rights” because they are worried that AI will “exacerbate discrimination.” The government also worries about workers being replaced by AI and calls for a report to be produced to calculate the “potential labor-market impacts.”
A recent episode of South Park addressed this concern too. If information workers are replaced by AI, the work force that knows how to do real-life skills will be the new wealthy class. It’s funny but. not funny.

Russia says that it has evidence that the United States is continuing its “biological weapons program.”
Igor Kirillov, Chief of the Russian Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (NBC) Protection Troops Lieutenant General, says that the CIA and the RAND corporation, a non-profit U.S. think tank, continue to work on “biological projects” that are not in line with U.S. commitments to non-proliferation. He said that new projects were approved by the Pentagon in March of 2023 and that they have seen the reports from the RAND Corporation.
"The RAND Report that is in our possession indicates that the use of such approaches 'could assist in planning and implementing a biological attack.' It is noted that the intelligent system is capable of picking the most appropriate type of biological formulation storage, selecting methods of masking, delivering, and applying pathogenic materials.”
This is shocking but not surprising. In 2022, U.S. State Department mouthpiece Victoria Nuland admitted to Congress that the U.S. had biolabs in Ukraine. The RAND Corporation would also not be a surprising partner in this plan because they often work out U.S. plans to do bad things to other countries. Last year, a leaked RAND report detailed how the U.S. could destabilize Germany through a war in Ukraine. The RAND Corporation responded by saying that the report was fake.

U.S. President Biden promised that Ukraine would not use U.S. weapons to attack inside Russian borders but that promise is repeatedly broken. Why? Is it because Ukraine needs a fast escalation to turn international heads away from Israel and back to Zelensky? If this Time Magazine article is any indication, that might be true.
Ukrainian President Zelensky’s aides told TIME that “he deludes himself.” He continued “We’re out of options. We’re not winning. But try telling him that.”
While he continues illusions of victory, people will continue to die because he refuses to step up to a peace agreement.
