Hallow

Happy Monday.

The Harris/Walz campaign is still soliciting donations, which they claim are to help fight key Senate and House races. Do it if you want but the New York Times claims that they spent “roughly $100 million per week.” The Las Vegas Sphere ad alone reportedlycost $900,000 and the campaign paid Oprah Winfrey’s production company $2.5 million for a celebrity-fueled infomercial. The campaign also spent close to $7,000 on boba tea and $40,000 on ice cream in August alone.

In Case You Missed It.

🧳 The TSA is reported to be ending its size restrictions for liquids in carry-on luggage.

🥣 This New York Times article says that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is wrong that the U.S. version of Fruit Loops has more artificial ingredients than the Canadian version, but then they prove that very thing, saying that “Canada’s has natural colorings made from blueberries and carrots while the U.S. product contains red dye 40, yellow 5 and blue 1 as well as Butylated hydroxytoluene, or BHT, a lab-made chemical that is used ‘for freshness.'” The New York Times is a joke.

🚨 Health officials say that they have confirmed a case of mpox in Northern California in a man who had traveled to Africa.

🇮🇷 After rumors that Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei was in a coma, Iran refuted the rumor with photos of the Ayatollah.

📺 Saturday Night Live is being called “shameful” for making fun of Robert F. Kennedy’s voice in its Cold Open starring Alec Baldwin as RFK Jr. If you disapprove of President-Elect Trump mocking a disabled reporter, you’ve got to disapprove of this too.

🔥 Environmental lobbyists want to exclude countries from the United Nations’ COP Climate Talks if they do not “support the phase out/transition away from fossil energy.”

🇪🇹 The Daily Mail reports that Ethiopian migrants are saying that they come from Eritrea to gain fraudulent asylum in the U.K.

Lead: US Approves Long Range Weapons to Ukraine

credit: ap

Unnamed sources say that President Biden has given Ukraine authorization to use long-range weapons to strike Russia after promising the American people that he would never do that because it would lead to World War III.

Ukrainian President Zelensky said on X that this has not been approved but it is on his Christmas wish list and has been for over two years.

“One of its key elements is providing our army with long-range capabilities,” he wrote. “There’s been much said in the media today that we have received approval to take relative actions. But strikes are not carried out with words. These things are not announced. The missiles will speak for themselves.”

The New York Times reports that “allowing the Ukrainians to use the long-range missiles, known as the Army Tactical Missile Systems, or ATACMS, came in response to Russia’s surprise decision to bring North Korean troops into the fight, officials said.”

There has not yet been proof that North Korean troops are fighting for Ukraine and North Korea has denied it.

Why would the New York Times report this from unnamed sources? This would mean that the Biden administration wants an escalation of the war with Russia before the Trump administration could negotiate an end to the war. Suspicious, right?

Where Did The Missing Money Go?

The Department of Defense put a “disclaimer of opinion” on its annual audit, trying to account for $824 billion. This means that they’re not sure where all of the money went and they won’t have clean books for at least another few years. Over $1 trillion in assets are unaccounted for and this is the seventh year in a row that the annual audit has failed to balance the books.

What if we presented the government with our tax returns like this? I think this is what I owe. I’ll give you a clear picture of my assets in four years. Deal with it.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that the department “made real progress” and is “committed to achieving an unmodified (clean) financial statement audit opinion by the end of 2028.”

Auditing the DOD is undoubtedly a nightmare. They have to audit over 4,000 cites in over 160 countries but the department spent $1 billion to do it! They can’t get a good audit even by spending $1 billion?

Republican Congressman Tim Burchett says that the audit includes money for a “secret UFO program.”

Trump Coming Out Parties

“Secret Trump voters” are outing themselves in the wake of President Trump’s victory. This refers to people who were sheepish to admit that they would vote for Trump are feeling emboldened to do so now.

And it’s a good thing too! In the run-up to the election, Democrats were threatening to out people who voted for Trump and…I don’t know what, harass and shame them? It’s best to out yourself than be hunted down and shamed, right?

Now MAGA hats are less taboo, as are MAHA hats and Axios reports that more Trump lawn signs went up AFTER the election than were up before. Plus, NFL players are doing the Trump dance in the end zone.

A pollster and strategist said this to Axios: “All of these undercover Trump people are out. People that would have hidden a week or so ago aren’t hiding anymore.”

Glass half-empty take: How sad that people felt that their fragile relationships could be tanked because of their politics.

Glass half-full take: Maybe the cancel culture is really over.

Disney Drops Transgender Plans

Disney has axed an animated episode about a transgender child who plays sports with a girls’ team. The show is called “Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.” An episode schedule for 2025 was to be called “The Gatekeeper” but Disney will not air it now.

The episode was about a transgender boy playing on the girls’ volleyball team and facing discrimination for it. One of the episode’s creators reportedly said this and then deleted it on the app Blue Sky:

“So guess I finally got hit with one of the projects (episode) I worked on is getting shelved because of which party that won the recent election. It breaks my heart knowing this impactful and amazing is now about to be consider a lost media episode.”

Is it because of the election or is it because a new report from the United Nations that showed that “over 600 female athletes in more than 400 competitions have lost more than 890 medals in 29 different sports” and maybe now the rest of us can see that this isn’t right, even Disney executives?

Disney is also facing calls to replace Rachel Zegler as Snow White in the upcoming feature film for saying that she wishes President-Elect Trump and his supporters “never know peace.” Disney fired “The Mandalorian” actress Gina Carano for expressing a conservative opinion but she did not wish harm on anyone. Imagine a Hollywood actor wishing harm on a Harris supporter.

Will Disney move forward with this obnoxious actress who hates 50.2% of the country? Back to the Future was re-shot with a new lead late in the game, although the movie previews had not been released. There’s a first for everything.

What’s Trending?

Miss Universe is trending because the pageant was this weekend and Denmark’s Victoria Kjaer Theilvig was crowned the winner. Fans say that she looks like a real-life Barbie. Fans were also shocked that this year’s winner is a biological woman.

Thanksgiving Weather is trending based on predictions of major weather disruptions during the holiday next week.

Grand Slam of Darts is trending because 17-year-old Luke Littler won the tournament this weekend, earning £150,000 in prize money.

News By The Numbers

60 million. That is how many homes tuned in to the Mike Tyson fight this weekend on Netflix. Many of them complained of terrible buffering. We watched it. Our son said it was more hyped at his high school than the Presidential election!

$100,000. That is the fine that the NBA slapped on Hornets star LaMelo Ball after he said the phrase “no homo” on TV.

13 percentage points. That is how much political pollster J. Ann Selzer predicted that Kamala Harris would win in Iowa for the Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa poll the Saturday before the election. She was taken to task for being bias and so obviously wrong. She announced that she is retiring from polling after this very public failure but she says that it was in the works for a while, not because of the mistake.
