LearGold

Happy Wednesday.

A woman in Indiana was arrested for trying to use the computers at the public library naked. She also walked up to another patron and grabbed his anatomy…book.

In Case You Missed It.

πŸ‘‹πŸΌ Anyone who is even remotely antiwar is celebrating the retirement of U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland who is responsible for countless wars and death. Bye, Felicia!

πŸ›οΈ House Speaker Mike Johnson will host the parents of jailed Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich for the State of the Union.

πŸ›οΈ Representative Thomas Massie will host the brother of jailed reporter Julian Assange at the State of the Union but will the press acknowledge him!?

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ President Biden reportedly invited Yulia Navalnaya, the widow of Alexei Navalny, and Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zelenska to the State of the Union but they both turned him down. This just shows how ignorant most people are about Russian/Ukrainian politics. Navalny was no ally to Ukraine! Lol.

πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ί Ukraine has reportedly launched several drone attacks inside of Russia.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ Ukraine has also reportedly lost several U.S.-supplied HIMARS that were destroyed by Russia after they were launched in the Donbass.

Lead: Super Tuesday, Crazier Wednesday

On Super Tuesday, former President Trump won 15 out of 16 Republican primary races, while Challenger Nimrata "Nikki" Haley won just one state: Vermont.

Haley’s campaign released some vague words thanking voters on Tuesday evening but they rang fairly hollow for her future in this race. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that she will officially suspend her campaign later today.

President Trump’s victory speech from his headquarters in Mar-a-Lago was energetic. He said that the “world is laughing at us” over border failures, failed wars, and crime rates. Compare this speech with President Biden’s press briefing on Tuesday

“I have a lot of questions. I better not start the questions. I’ll get in trouble,” Biden mumbled. The audience gave a sympathy laugh but he did not even chuckle as he usually does while he is attempting a joke.

How is this confused man going to deliver a State of the Union address tomorrow?

Sanction Us? We'll Steal Your Oil

Iran will use $50 million worth of crude it seized from the U.S. to help those who were hurt by U.S. sanctions.

Last year, Iran’s navy seized the ship Advantage Sweet which had been chartered to carry oil for Chevron from Kuwait to Tehran.

A court in Tehran ordered that the seizure of the oil could be used to help patients of Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a rare skin disease. The patients had reportedly “filed a lawsuit against the ‘severe physical and mental harm’ caused by the non-provision of Swedish-made medicine, which is said to be caused by US sanctions according to the lawsuit."

This is a little taste-of-your-own-medicine for the U.S., which advocates the seizure of foreign property for political reasons all the time. The U.S. is currently pressuring France to seize assets owned by Russians to aid in support for Ukraine but French President Macron refuses. “We are not in favor of doing things forbidden in international law and opening a debate that I believe would weaken Europe,” Macron said

Where's The Beef?

Trump rival Leticia James is now going after the beef industry. The New York Attorney General has filed a lawsuit against JBS Foods, the world's largest beef producer for "misleading the public about its environmental impact. JBS USA has claimed that it will achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040, despite documented plans to increase production, and therefore increase its carbon footprint."

A lot of companies say that they are going to be carbon neutral and most of them will fail to meet those targets. Is that “greenwashing” fraud?

The lawsuit claims that beef production accounts for 14.5% of annual global greenhouse gas emissions. That is a global average. Because the U.S. has experienced and efficient beef producers, greenhouse gas emissions from beef in the U.S. is responsible for approximately 2.2% of the nation's greenhouse gas emissions. This figure comes from the EPA's own reports. Does the AG's office not know that?

The lawsuit claims that greenhouse gas emissions results in global warming and climate change.  No one has proven that yet. Human-led climate change has yet to be proven, even with IPCC United Nations climate models that are trying to prove it.

New York Post columnist Betsy McCaughey says that this lawsuit is frivolous and that it will scare businesses out of the state of New York.

News By The Numbers

600. That is how many Venus flytraps two men tried to steal in North Carolina.

£1 billion. That is how much the Church of England has been told to raise from wealthy donors "to address its links to transatlantic slavery."

$59.99. That is how much it costs to swim with stingrays at ZooTampa in the new Stingray Encounter. Ever heard of Steve Irwin!?

What's Trending?

credit: anthropic.com

Anthropic is trending because that is a newly released AI software that is supposedly better than ChatGPT.

Facebook and Instagram were trending because both had outages on Tuesday and people freaked out. Mark Zuckerberg had to use X (formerly Twitter) spaces to explain what was going on.

This video is trending of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck cleaning up after themselves at a local theater showing of Dune 2. Good for them for not leaving a mess for other people to clean but she clearly didn’t touch that popcorn so don’t tell me she eats whatever she wants, Ben!

Canceling The Kiss

credit: LIFE

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has apologized for trying to cancel one of the most famous antiwar images of the century.

The iconic LIFE magazine image shows a soldier in Times Square kissing a woman in celebration of the end of World War II. A Veterans Health Administration’s top operations official recently sent a memo instructing employees to “promptly” remove any use of the photo because it “depicts a non-consensual act” and “is inconsistent with the VA’s no-tolerance policy towards sexual harassment and assault.”

As the Military Times points out, “the identities of the individuals in the photo have been disputed over the years.” CBS News claims to have reunited the kissee and the kisser in 2012 and they certainly did not seem traumatized by it.

After backlash about canceling this photo, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs Denis McDonough reversed course and said that“This image is not banned from VA facilities – and we will keep it in VA facilities.”
