Lead: Senate Sells Out America

President Biden is expected to sign the three bills passed by Congress this week to send war funding to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan today. The President begged Congress to pass these bills and he got his way. Taxpayers are now on the hook for an additional $95 billion to be sent abroad for wars that American people do not support.

“I will sign this into law immediately to send a message to the world: We stand with our friends, and we won’t let Iran or Russia succeed,” the White House said in a statement.

As we reported on Tuesday’s episode of Redacted, lawmakers sold us all out. They know that Ukraine can’t win this war but they set this up as a money-making scheme. Former President Trump was reportedly instrumental in getting Republican sign off for this atrocity. And we will get nothing for it because Russia says that they will continue to destroy every weapon we send as they have been doing for two years. The number of Congressional representatives that stood against this are too few and far between. Shame on the rest of them.

Flamethrower For The Dogs

Forget gun control. Americans may soon be arguing about robot dog flamethrower control now that this bad boy has hit the market: meet the Thermonator. It went on sale this week in the U.S.

Thermonator is a drone with an ARC flamethrower that has a range of 30 feet and can be bought for about $10,000 from a company in Ohio.

Not that this isn’t impressive but can you imagine if a school shooter got their hands on one? Is it even legal to have this?? Yes it is in every state except two: California, which requires a permit for flamethrowers, and Maryland, which has a ban on them.

In the words of Dr. Nefario: “Under what circumstances would we use this?”

Just The Tip?

credit: bravotv

Here are two good examples of lawmakers wasting their time with nonsense.

In New York, Democratic City Councilman Shaun Abreu introduced a bill to coax you into tipping your food delivery person on apps. It would force the apps to set a minimum gratuity of 10% and force users to opt out of tips instead of opt in. Doesn’t New York have bigger problems than this?

In California, lawmakers proposed a bill to end the Clear program in all California airports because they say that “it’s unfair to have people cutting in line just because they pay more.” By that logic, first class should not board first or even exist. And neither should TSA Pre or Global Entry. And neither should HOV or HOT lanes on the freeway.

Talk about perverting a capitalist society! Lawmakers are useless.

What’s Trending?

credit: fx

Shogun is trending because the season finale for the FX show aired on Tuesday and fans are eager to know if there will be a second season. It seems unlikely because the show creators said that they ended the show where the book ends and that’s that.

Houston Texans are trending because the team revealed new uniforms for the first time since the team’s inception in 2000.

Nicole Mitchell is trending because the Democratic Senator from Minnesota was arrested for burglary on Monday.

News By The Numbers

$500. That is the fine that Representative Thomas Massie was threatened with for posting a video of Democrats waiving the Ukrainian flag after passing a bill to send the country more war funding. House Speaker Mike Johnson said that he does not agree with this and “there will be no fine.”

3.6%. That was the inflation rate in Australia in March.

8,500. That is how many new businesses may be created each year due to the new ban on noncompete clauses, according to the FTC. According to the new rule, employers cannot have any say in what their employees do next once they leave a job.

9%. That is how much Tesla revenue dropped in the first quarter of this year, the biggest decline for the company since 2012. Shares jumped by 13% however because Elon Musk said that the company is aiming to release a new affordable EV by 2025.

The Royal Mystery

credit: redacted

Does this photo help you feel that all is well with Princess Kate? This photo was posted on social media to honor the 6th birthday of the youngest child of Kate and William, Prince Louis. Every year the social media for the royal couple posts Happy Birthday images of the children. We would be worried if they didn’t today, especially in light of the strange behavior of the palace all year.

Well they did post an image, only the young prince is clearly wearing the same shirt as the Mother’s Day image that the palace admitted was heavily edited. And his tooth has not grown in in the six weeks in between and he has the same chapped lips. Does he only have one shirt? Do they not have any vaseline at the palace?

What do you think, is this something or nothing? Does this help answer for all of the missing answers since the Princess disappeared? Is she in fact suffering from cancer or is something more sinister being hidden from the public?
