Lead: The Deal That Changes Nothing

President Trump announced that a preliminary deal with Iran is “all signed” and that the Strait will be completely opened on Friday.

Is there any truth to this? Because at this point, we sure do have reason to question these weekly “peace deal” announcements, don’t we? Especially when Trump posts absurd statements like this: “Iran has agreed to never have a Nuclear Weapon!”

As for an actual deal itself, there could be some truth to it this time, seeing how Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, announced that the two sides had agreed on a deal, and Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs confirmed this as well, stating:

“We are pleased to announce that the Peace Deal between the United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran has been REACHED. Both sides have declared the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon.”

The keyword here is “Lebanon”.

Because no matter how convincing these statements are that come directly from world leaders, lasting peace won’t materialize while Israel is making it clear that it doesn’t consider itself bound by the Lebanon clause in the agreement with Iran.

Case in point, Netanyahu, in so many words, has announced a permanent occupation of territories in Lebanon, “We will remain in the security zones as long as necessary.”

With Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz backing his statement: “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and I are leading a clear policy that determines that the IDF will remain in the security zones in Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza, without any time limit.”

That being the case, this may just turn out to be another pause for everyone to reload.

In the meantime, the Iranians are expecting millions of dollars in much-needed reconstruction funds, but Vice President Vance has indicated those funds will only be released if Iran complies.

But once Israel resumes military operations in Lebanon and Iran responds, Tehran will be accused of violating the agreement, and the funds will be withheld.

And if everything does actually unfold the way Trump says it will, if the Strait fully reopens and oil begins flowing normally again, then what exactly was all of this for?

Thousands of lives were lost, and economies were thrown into turmoil, only to arrive back at square one with the same shipping lanes open and oil flowing freely once again.

The Great Migration Mandate

The European Union’s new Migration Pact officially took effect on June 12, and it could become one of the most divisive policies Brussels has ever imposed on its member states.

Under the new rules, countries that refuse to accept migrants assigned to them through the EU’s redistribution system can face penalties of up to €21,000 per migrant.

For nations resisting the policy, the bill could quickly climb into the hundreds of millions of euros each year. As if migrants flooding their countries wasn’t costing them enough already.

The pact also introduces accelerated asylum and border processing procedures, while granting migrants access to certain worker rights after just six months in the system, which could make Europe an even more attractive destination for migration.

Supporters describe the pact as a fair way to share responsibility across Europe. Critics say it’s a system that favors bureaucracy over secure borders and forces countries to accept migration policies they never voted for.

French National Rally leader Marine Le Pen has long opposed the plan, calling it “a real pact with the devil.” She has also said, “Every day, hundreds of foreigners come here to France, intending to live as they did back home. Mass Immigration is not an opportunity, it’s a tragedy for France.”

Those who oppose the pact worry that programs encouraging legal migration, family reunification, and labor recruitment from abroad will place additional pressure on housing, public services, and social programs that are already stretched thin in their countries.

At its core, this fight isn’t just about immigration. It’s about who gets to decide a nation’s future: elected governments or unelected bureaucrats.
