Happy Thursday

The Academy Awards is reportedly considering canceling the red carpet for the March 15 ceremony because of the war in Iran. Really? Hollywood had no problem turning the Oscars into a lecture series about Covid masks, vaccines, climate change. They even celebrated the Nazi Alexei Navalny. But antiwar speeches? Suddenly that’s where they draw the line?

The Lead: Congress Won’t Stop the War It Was Supposed to Declare

The Senate voted NOT to pass a resolution to stop the war in Iran. It’s a double negative, but the meaning is simple: the Senate voted to allow the President to continue his war in Iran.

The irony. The Constitution gives Congress alone the power to declare war, but now Congress is saying, "We don't feel the need to weigh in here. The President can carry on."

The resolution failed because 52 Senators voted against it. Looking on the bright side, 48 voted for it.

Because it failed in the Senate, it will go no further, so we will never know what the House of Representatives would do. Even if it had passed both chambers, the President most likely would have vetoed a bill restricting the war he himself started.

But hey! We got a new war movie poster! Doesn't that make you feel better about the war? Americans may die, but at least we are cinematically foreboding!

Sources are telling Redacted that the American death count is decidedly more than six. Some say it is in the hundreds and that Americans are being lied to in order to tamp down dissent. Will it work?

What Real Estate Investors Need to Know — Before Late March

SDIRA Wealth

A major shift is coming to the housing market — and most investors aren’t prepared.

Trump’s executive order restricting institutional investors from buying single-family homes is expected to go into effect in late March. If implemented as written, it could dramatically reshape who controls inventory — and who gets the advantage.

For years, Wall Street firms outbid everyday buyers. That landscape may be changing.

The real question is:

Will you be positioned to benefit — or caught reacting?

In this live session, SDIRA Wealth will break down:

• What the executive order actually means (not just the headlines)

• How restrictions on institutional buyers could create opportunity for individual investors

• Where demand is likely to shift next

• What risks to watch as the real estate landscape adjusts

• Practical strategies to position yourself before the law takes effect

Nothing about real estate will feel the same after this shift. Those who understand it early may gain a significant edge.

If you’re serious about long-term buy-and-hold wealth building, this is a conversation you don’t want to miss.

What's Trending

This video is trending showing former Marine Brian McGinnis protesting the war in uniform before being thrown out of a Congressional hearing while yelling, "No one wants to fight for Israel!" Senator Tim Sheehy from Montana joins in helping police throw him out and he gets seriously hurt, perhaps with a broken hand. He explained himself here but his explanation is…insufficient. The video is upsetting and encapsulates everything that is wrong with this war. The disrespect for service members, disregard for violence, contempt for the will of the American people. God help us.

Lou Holtz is trending because the iconic Notre Dame football coach died at the age of 89.

Corey Lewandowski is trending because Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was asked about her rumored sexual affair with him during a Congressional hearing on Wednesday. He is a top aide and the former campaign manager for President Trump.
