After President Trump is inaugurated this afternoon, he will head back to the Oval Office to sign Day One executive orders. This is a common occurrence for new administrations.
In a speech on Sunday evening, the President-elect said that he would sign more than 100 executive orders on Monday.
One of those orders will reportedly “pause all offshore wind leases, which could save the North Atlantic right whale from extinction at the hands of industrial wind energy.”
Another, the Free Press reports, will be called “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.” It is said to establish “Government-wide the biological reality of two sexes and clearly defines male and female.” It will require government documents to reflect biological reality, including passports. The Biden administration allowed people to self identify on passports and choose a third option for gender called X. That law will be rescinded. It will ends “the practice of housing men in women’s prisons and taxpayer funded ‘transition’ for male prisoners,” such as the one Chelsea Manning had while in prison as Bradley Manning. It also “ends the forced recitation of ‘preferred pronouns’ and protects Americans’ First Amendment and statutory rights to recognize the biological and binary nature of sex.”
When asked if the Trump administration would be ready to fight litigation that will inevitably follow this, a policy adviser said that they are and that they would be “100 percent successful.”

The anti-Trump march in Washington D.C. did not have the steam of the 2017 Women’s March. Even the corporate press called it “limp.”
According to The Telegraph: “For an event that billed itself as the ‘People’s March’, not a lot of people ended up marching.”
The BBC reported that “thousands” showed up but in 2017, half a million people showed up in their “pssy hats,” hats made to look like the female genitalia to reference the Access Hollywood tape where the President said that women let him grab them by the pssy.
The liberal organizers were hoping for 50,000 attendees, but Capitol Police said that the number did not exceed 25,000. Why do you think that is?
One attendee called the low turnout “unfortunate” but told The Telegraph that it did not mean that “hardly anybody is concerned”, adding: “I think it’s just that they’re going to do their resisting and protesting online, at home.”
$72 million. That is the amount of the four-year contract that the Los Angeles Dodgers have reportedly offered left-handed relief pitcher Tanner Scott.
2,500. That is approximately the number of sentences that President Biden commuted on January 17, the most in U.S. history.
51. That is how many intelligence officials will reportedly lose their security clearances in the new Trump administration after they claimed that Hunter Biden’s laptop had “the classic earmarks” of Russian disinformation ahead of the 2020 election.
President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump both launched Meme coins this weekend in anticipation of the inauguration.
President Trump’s coin is called $TRUMP. He announced it in a Truth Social post on Friday. Melania’s coin is called $MELANIA. It was announced on X.
A cryptocoin is valuable because it is finite. The $TRUMP coin launched with 200 million coins but will expand to 1 billion over the next three years, according to the coin’s website. It spiked in value by 300% this weekend alone.
The site says that the coins are “not intended to be, or the subject of” an investment opportunity and is “not political and has nothing to do with” any political campaign, political office or government agency. So it is more of a blockchain collectible.
This is unusual. The First Family doesn’t typically sell products to the American people but President Trump kept his businesses during his first administration so it’s less unusual for him.
Crypto experts worry that this could cheapen cryptocurrencies because it is a memecoin. According to Politico, “Memecoins — a class of crypto sometimes referred to as ‘shitcoins’ that includes digital assets with names like Dogecoin and Fartcoin — are speculative assets that are highly volatile by nature. If investors lose money on the coin, it could become a liability for both Trump and the crypto sector.”
Israel and Hamas did in fact exchange prisoners this weekend. Three Israelis were exchanged for 90 Palestinians on the first day of a ceasefire deal.
The three Israeli prisoners were reported to be: Emily Damari, 28, Romi Gonen, 24, and Doron Steinbrecher, 31. They were said to be in “good health.” They were in captivity for 471 days.
The 90 Palestinians released by Israel included 69 women and 21 teenage boys, some as young as 12. One of them was Bushra al-Tawil, a Palestinian journalist jailed in Israel in March 2024.
The hostage exchange will continue over the next six weeks. At least 30 more Israelis will be exchanged for 1,904 Palestinian prisoners.
President Trump’s Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, may visit the Gaza Strip this week to “ensure the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas stays on track,” according to some reports.
