This week the Democrats will make their pitch to the country at the Democratic Convention in Chicago. They will have to make the case that their party has done America right in the last four years while ignoring some fairly damning evidence that they have not.
The convention will happen in Chicago where the crime rate is up by 53% since the Biden/Harris administration took office. This is the type of crime that Democrats pretend is not happening. The Democrats are pretending that crime is down on their watch but it’s not. The streets of Chicago have been lined with police and protestors all weekend. Can Democrats address this in a satisfactory way?
The Democrats will have to contend with tens of thousands of protestors who want the Democrats to stop supporting the war in Gaza. Kamala Harris says that she is working around the clock with President Biden to secure a ceasefire and get the hostages home. At the same time, the Biden administration just sent another $20 billion in military aid to Israel last week, including F-15 fighter jets and tank munitions. This brings the total number of arms deals with Israel to five.
The Democrats will also make a pitch that the economy is fine even though we all know it’s not fine. Vice President Harris unveiled a new economic plan that would include $1.7 trillion in handouts, including $25,000 for first-time homebuyers and $6,000 tax breaks for lower and middle-income families who have a baby. The plan also includes price controls and medical debt relief. The New York Postcalls it Kamunism. Guess what will happen if she starts to control prices on items? Shortages. It’s Economics 101.
Despite all of these tough realities on the issues, the Democrats are pretty pumped to gather in Chicago, as they should be. If you’re going to rally around your party, you should believe in the causes. But they threw Joe Biden under the bus out of disloyalty and dirty politics and now they plan to show him “so much love” and “tears of joy when he walks into that hall.” Given that, how will you receive their enthusiasm?

The Biden administration is “open” to sending long-range weapons. Open to it? This is exactly what President Biden assured us he would NOT do since 2022! Who’s running The White House?
According to POLITICO, the administration may send Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles (JASSM). They have a range of over 230 miles and “would become the longest-range weapon the US sends Ukraine if it goes ahead with the delivery.”
The Biden administration keeps saying that they trust Ukraine not to attack inside of Russia, even as there is proof that Ukraine is doing exactly that. This weekend, Ukraine destroyed a key bridge in Russia’s Kursk region and struck a second one nearby. According to the Associated Press, this disrupted “supply lines as it pressed a stunning cross-border incursion that began Aug. 6, officials said Sunday.”
Stunning? Again, we have been assured that this would not happen so maybe stunning is not the right word.
7.0. That is the magnitude of the earthquake that hit the east coast of Russia’s Kamchatka peninsula on Sunday. It triggered a volcano eruption and massive plumes of ash to blanket the region.
14,000. That is how many people in the U.K. have applied for government money because they say that they were harmed by the Covid vaccine. The government has reportedly only approved 2% of those claims.
11. That is how many death threats one White Woman For Harris has reportedly received since going viral. Friendly reminder: you can’t kill (or threaten to kill) people just for being annoying.
The Israeli government tries to skirt U.S. laws to make sure that it can influence American politics without registering the influence of money as foreign agents. This is according to a shocking but not shocking report from The Guardian.
Leaked emails show that Israel sought legal advice on how to avoid registering their lobbying campaigns as foreign agents. According to The Guardian, “a legal strategy memo dated July 2018 noted that compliance with the Foreign Agents Registration Act (Fara) would damage the reputation of several American groups that receive funding and direction from Israel, and force them to meet onerous transparency requirements. A separate memo noted that donors would not want to fund groups registered under Fara.”
Fara exists for a reason! It is so that Americans know when they are being influenced by foreign actors! Here we see Israel purposely going around these laws by creating American nonprofits “in order to continue Israel’s activities in the US while avoiding scrutiny under the law.”
This is outrageous! In the words of Caitlin Johnstone: “They’re persecuting Americans like Scott Ritter and Uhuru activists for criticizing US foreign policy under extremely dubious Foreign Agents Registration Act accusations while letting Israel get away with this shit.”
The Supreme Court ruled that the Biden Administration’s new Title IX rules cannot be enforced. This means that males cannot enter female spaces in sports, dormitories, etc.
President Biden’s revisions to Title IX would allow men who identify as women to participate in women’s sports, education programs and housing. Several states sued to stop this, and the Biden administration sought a stay so that it could implement its rules. The court denied the stay, meaning that the administration cannot enforce the rules. The courts that have ruled against the rules will have their rulings stand. The Biden administration will still fight to reinstate their rules in those states.
Surprisingly, much of the litigation is around gender identity and not around the issue of kangaroo courts that the Biden administration wants to put back in place. If someone is found violating Title IX, they are not given the right to a fair trial to defend themselves, according to these new rules. That has been less of an issue in these litigations than the gender bit.
