aura

Happy Tuesday.

A U.K. judge ruled this morning that Journalist Julian Assange may have the right to appeal his case on three grounds. However, the U.S. will be first given an opportunity to offer more assurances that Assange should be extradited to the U.S. and that they won’t kill him.

The Lead: All In Favor of Ceasefire Say Aye

credit: youtube

The U.S. abstained on a vote for a ceasefire in Gaza at the United Nations. That may not sound like a bold move but for the U.S., it is! The U.S. has vetoed ceasefires for months, allowing Israel to continue its bloody siege on Gaza since October 7. This is the first time that the U.S. allowed the ceasefire vote to pass and Israel is furious about it.

Israel had planned to send a delegation to Washington to discuss its planned invasion of Rafah but those plans are canceled due to this strife. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the move by the U.S. is “a clear retreat from the consistent position of the US in the Security Council since the beginning of the war.”

Yes it is. U.S. officials have allowed Israel to bomb Palestinians indiscriminately with unconditional support but Israel grows bolder in defying U.S. calls for restraint.

Former President Trump changed his tune on Israel this week too, now saying that Israel needs to “get this over with,” meaning the war on Gaza. He said: “We’ve got to get to peace. You can’t have this going on, and I will say Israel has to be very careful because you are losing a lot of the world. You are losing a lot of support.”

DHS Raids Diddy’s Homes

credit: nypost

Several homes owned by Sean “Diddy” Combs were raided by the Department of Homeland Security on Monday. Combs has been implicated in a major sex trafficking investigation.

DHS did not specify reasons or targets of the raids, but Diddy has been hit with multiple lawsuits over alleged sexual assault and trafficking. Here is a summary from The Guardian: “Last year, he settled a lawsuit from his former girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie, who accused him of physically and sexually abusing her for years. Another of Combs’ accusers alleges that Combs, along with two other men, raped her two decades ago, when she was 17. Producer Rodney Jones has also accused Combs of sexually assaulting him and forcing him to hire sex workers and perform sexual acts with them. Combs has denied the allegations.”

Additionally, a lot has been learned from the Diddy cases about people connected to Combs and Michael Jackson, making this ring more insidious than ever. Is Combs another version of Epstein? How will the media cover this and who will they cover for? Or who will the government cover for? Candace Owens, who has been following this story, says that the Feds “already knew what he was up to but he is going to be the fall guy so that they can protect the people at the top of the ring. They are raiding his home to hide evidence not to find it. That’s how this works.”

Putin Implicates Ukraine in Terror Attack

Russian President Putin says that “Radical Islam” is responsible for the terror attack in Moscow this weekend and he implicates Ukraine for facilitating it.

“This attack was carried out by radical Islamists,” Putin said in the opening remarks of a video call with law enforcement officials, according to RT.

This leaves us to pull the thread of who funded Islamic radicals and for what purpose. This is something the West has done repeatedly in order to sow discord in Syria, Somalia, Iraq. Colonel Douglas MacGregor, who was the former Pentagon advisor to President Trump, told Redacted that the CIA was directly involved in the operation.

Meanwhile The White House said that, “There is absolutely no evidence that Ukraine was involved.” This is the same White House that said Russia blew up it’s own Nord Stream pipeline and the U.S. border is secure.

What’s Trending?

Andrew Huberman is trending because of this New York Magazine profile of the podcaster, accusing him of being a strange person. It’s a strange hit-piece article, actually, merely accusing him of being a flawed person, perhaps out of jealousy for his popularity.

Hip-drop tackle is trending. It’s a football tackle, not a dance move and now the NFL has banned it.

Anne Hathaway is trending for this Vanity Fair cover.

35%. That is how much shares of Digital World Acquisition Corp. jumped on Monday in anticipation of its merger with Trump Media & Technology Group Corp. The company will now trade on the Nasdaq under the ticker DJT and include the Truth Social platform as part of its business.

40%. That is how much Boeing stock is down on news that the company’s CEO stepped down.

$20/hour. That will be the new minimum wage in California for fast food workers, starting in April.

New York Times Has a New Target

credit: epoch times

What does the New York Times have against Shen Yun, the traveling Chinese ballet show that you probably see advertised all over your town?

The Epoch Times says that the NYT is about to publish a “hit piece” on the dance company. Shen Yun is based in New York. Their mission is to “revive traditional Chinese culture.” Their slogan is “China Before Communism.” They are NOT aligned with the Chinese Communist Party.

But the Times has been investigating Shen Yun for at least six months, interviewing former performers and presumably trying to make the case that they are a Chinese psy-op on Americans.

One of the focuses of the piece is on Falun Gong, a meditative practice that is banned in China. Many of those who follow this practice are also founders of the Epoch Times, which may be why this is of interest to the outlet.

So if the Chinese government does not like Shen Yun, is the New York Times doing it a favor to attack the dance company?

For the record, my mother went to a Shen Yun performance last month and she loved it. She has not yet been radicalized by China. But she does enjoy Chinese food.
