In New York City, the “barnacle” has replaced the “boot” to punish illegal parking. It is a commercial-grade suction cup that latches onto the glass with 1,000 pounds of force, making it next to impossible to remove.

🚨 President Trump says that he will not run again in 2028 if he loses this November.
🔥 President Trump also says that he is working on a plan to end sanctuary cities and use the federal government to enforce the law.
📨 The federal indictment of the second Trump shooter shows that Ryan Routh left a note addressed “Dear World,” and went on to explain that this was indeed an assassination attempt. He also offered $150,000 for anyone that could “complete the job”.
🇫🇷 France formed a “center-right” government after a snap election forced President Macron to do so.
The House of Representatives will vote on a three-month spending package to avoid a government shut down by September 30.
House Speaker Mike Johnson removed the SAVE Act from the bill, as predicted. The SAVE Act was supposed to enact legislation to prevent voter fraud but it would not have prevented anything in advance of the upcoming November elections. It was, in the words of Representative Thomas Massie, failure theater.
The bill does not involve any budget cuts so congress will be right back here on December 20 when another debt limit is reached. The Speaker says that this is a bipartisan bill but really it is a Democrat bill. Republicans get nothing for it.

Israel launched massive strikes on Southern Lebanon. Lebanon says that this is the deadliest day since October 7 with at least 274 people dead and thousands fleeing to shelters.
Israel says that it has identified a Hezbollah plan for large-scale rocket attack and that it was targeting 800 Hezbollah targets. But at least 21 children and 39 women were reportedly killed in the process.
Meanwhile, CNN is reporting that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is considering an “ethnic cleansing” of Gaza. He said that this plan “makes sense,” adding “it is one of the plans being considered, but there are several others. We are committed to dismantling the civilian control of Hamas.”
An Israeli official reported this from a recent meeting but it’s hardly a secret that this has been Netanyahu’s plan all along. Anyone who is surprised by this has not been paying attention.
In related news, Israel says that it will investigate video of soldiers throwing the bodies of Palestinian men off of rooftops like trash from the West Bank. Warning before you click: the footage is very upsetting.
$27 million. That is how much money the Kamala Harris campaign raised on Sunday in New York City. That is reportedly her largest single-day haul.
900 miles. That is how far one cat mysteriously traveled between Wyoming to California after getting lost on a vacation. The owners have no idea how he did it.
$2 million. That is how much one woman is suing the New York Mets for after she was refused entry to the stadium unless she removed her MAGA hat. In her lawsuit, she is claiming “racial discrimination and political retaliation” and “reputational harm.”
Did Germany “dodge a far-right bullet,” as the media suggests? Elections happened over the weekend and according to preliminary results, “the centre-left Social Democrats (SPD) appear headed for a narrow election victory over the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) in the eastern German state of Brandenburg.”
Is the AfD far-right? They are in favor of slowing immigration and war funding. So extreme! The media says that they “invoke Nazi past” with no real way to quantify that. The SPD is the party of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. This party has been losing support but somehow they pulled it off this weekend by a hair.
Ireland will drop parts of its “hate speech law,” which we have warned about at length. It is called the Incitement to Violence or Hatred and Hate Offences bill. It passed Ireland’s lower chamber but was stalled in the upper chamber due to common sense opposition.
The bill called for people to go to jail if they posted memes that the government that the government didn’t like. It was straight out of George Orwell’s 1984. For instance, you do not agree with someone’s gender ideology: jail. You make a joke about race: jail.
Irish Justice Minister Helen McEntee says that components of the bill that deal with “incitement to hatred or violence have been removed.” She said that the legislation will move forward with tougher sentences for physical hate crimes. Which are already illegal.
