Fat Bear Week will be delayed because one fat bear killed another because they're bears. The deadly bear brawl was caught on webcam. Even the animals are at war.

Lead: We Are Being Sold WW3
I am sitting here watching Fox News call for an all-out war with Iran and pretend that the Israel conflict with other Arab countries began on October 7. And I am praying for us all because no diplomacy is even on the table.
It feels as if it is 2001 all over again and we are being sold a war with Afghanistan, ignoring decades of intelligence that would have told us all that a war with Afghanistan was unwinnable and would only lead to innocent civilian death.
Iran launched close to 200 missiles into Israel on Tuesday in retaliation for many things. Iran says that the attacks were aimed at military targets in occupied territories. So far, one death has been recorded and the victim was reportedly a Palestinian. Iran called this "Operation Honest Promise 2." Israel has promised a major retaliation and the U.S. says that it will support whatever that means.
Before the missile strike, Israel suffered a terrorist shooting in Tel Aviv which killed at least seven people and wounded 17. A mother with her 9-month-old baby strapped to her was killed, but strangers saved the baby.
On the same day, Israel launched a ground invasion into Lebanon, which the United Nations has condemned. The U.N. launched a "$426 million appeal for Lebanon on Tuesday to support one million people uprooted by widespread Israeli shelling."
Because of this, Israel has banned the Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres from entering Israel.
The United Nations is meeting today in an emergency meeting aimed to call for immediate de-escalation but there will be no vote or resolution today. What we should watch for is who expresses solidarity with whom. The U.S. is green-lighting Israel to retaliate while asking them to withdraw from Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon. How far will the U.S. go? What makes us think that we can win a war against Iran that would pit the U.S. against Russia, Pakistan, Syria, and other Arab countries? It's a dangerous time.
Name The Names Already!

Just name them already! A lawyer in Texas says that he will file lawsuits against Diddy on behalf of more than 100 victims and that the suit will expose "many powerful people" who were involved in his sexual exploits for years.
It feels like a cruel tease. After the Epstein list slipped through our hands from his murder, the public has an appetite to know who has used their power to sell fame to the American public based on vile rituals!
The lawyer, Tony Buzbee, said that one of the victims was 9 years old at the time. He said that he is organizing complaints by "120 accusers [who] were roughly split evenly by gender, spanned over 30 years and included 25 minors."
He said that some of the "powerful people" involved have already been contacted by the FBI.
Thirty years!?
I can't help but wonder: Why would he announce the downfall of powerful people before actually filing lawsuits? Doesn't that seem like a dangerous thing to do in advance? Wouldn't it be safer to lead with the suits and the evidence?

Vice Presidential Debate
CBS News hosted the only debate between the two candidates for Vice President on Tuesday, Ohio Senator J.D. Vance and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Does it matter? Nominally. Most voters likely saw their biases reinforced. Walz repeated the things that Democrats cared about and Vance did the same for Republicans. The two were, however, respectful of one another, which is rare in American politics.
In terms of suave and debate skills, Senator Vance delivered a masterclass in doing the prep work for debate clubs around the world. He was respectful, prepared and unflustered. He pushed back when the rules were changed on him by the moderators but did not come off as belligerent while doing so. He clearly has a star quality, no matter what you think of him.
Governor Walz failed to answer for his inconsistent bio such as when he said he was in Hong Kong during the Tiananmen Square protests when it is clear he wasn't. Democratic voters won't care about that.
Senator Vance did hit the Harris campaign hard on her failed border policies. Governor Walz suggested that President Biden's immigration bill would have fixed all of that but it did not pass Congress. Vance pointed out that Harris had been in charge of the border and CBS News published this "Fact Check" on X, claiming that this was false. Only it's not. President Biden DID put Harris in charge of the border in March of 2021. CBS News themselves reported that. As usual, the biggest casualty in these debates is the media.

$200,000. That is the value of an Andy Warhol painting of former Soviet Union leader Vladimir Lenin. It was reportedly stolen by a man from Ohio in 2021 but was recently found in a pawn shop.
100. That is how many branches JPMorgan Chase will launch in low-income communities.
462,890. That is how many Teslas were sold in Q3 of this year, up 6.4% from the same time last year but still below Wall Street's expectations.
What's Trending?

McDonald's Boo Buckets are trending because the fast food chain will bring back these buckets for their Happy Meals, which double as a candy bucket for Halloween. They go on sale on October 15.
John Amos is trending because the actor best known for playing the father on Good Times has died at the age of 84.
Usha Vance is trending because her husband J.D. Vance said lovely things about her at the VP Debate last night and people want to know more about her.
Ukraine Loses Ground
Russia gained more ground in the contested area of Ukraine. The Ukrainian army confirmed that it will retreat from the town of Ugledar in Russia’s Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).
The Ukrainian Khortitsa operational-strategic group said that it withdrew in order to regroup for future battles. Russian officials say that Ukraine withdrew after sustaining "heavy losses" due to their "refusal to withdraw its units from the city when it was possible."
In any other week, this may have inspired the U.S. to renew its support of Ukraine but this week, the U.S. is focused on Israel and Zelensky's trip to the U.S. last week failed to inspire the bloodlust he once did. The Wall Street Journal called his reception "tepid." Meh.
Some NATO members are reportedly now signaling that they would like to speak with Russian President Putin. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has been steadfast in supporting Ukraine's military but may have recently warmed to the idea of diplomacy.
