Tomorrow is International Yoga Day and the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi plans to teach a class at the United Nations in New York during his visit to the U.S. If U.S. politicians are going to take part, I’ll be watching that.
Chinese officials made quite an impression on U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken. After he met with President Xi Xinping and top foreign policy official, Wang Yi, Blinken gave public remarks saying that the U.S. does NOT support Taiwanese independence.
Wait what? After all of this rhetoric around Taiwan and a possible conflict with China? After President Biden said on 60 Minutes that the U.S. would militarily defend Taiwan? How did this guy get back in line?
A read-out of the meeting between President Xi Xinping and Secretary Blinken can be found here. It shows the Chinese President asking the U.S. not to interfere with Chinese prosperity and progress while assuring that China will afford the U.S. the same.
“China respects the interests of the United States and will not challenge and replace the United States,” President Xi Xinping said. “Similarly, the United States should also respect China and not harm China's legitimate rights and interests. Neither party can shape the other party according to its own will, let alone deprive the other party of the right to legitimate development.”
Secretary Blinken said that “the United States abides by the promises made by President Biden, does not seek to seek the ‘new Cold War,’ does not seek to change China's system, does not seek to oppose China by strengthening alliance relations, does not support "Taiwan independence,” does not intend to conflict with China, and looks forward to carry out high-level exchanges with China, maintain smooth communication, responsibly control differences, and seek Exchange and cooperation.”

Does that mean that the U.S. will tone down the anti-China rhetoric? We’ll see. Last year Congress proposed a $500 million billthat would fund negative news coverage of China.
Have we found Covid patients zero? It seems like we have and surprise: they were all members of the Wuhan Institute of Virology. (WIV)
“According to multiple U.S. government officials interviewed as part of a lengthy investigation by Public and Racket, the first people infected by the virus, ‘patients zero,’ included Ben Hu, a researcher who led the WIV’s ‘gain-of-function’ research on SARS-like coronaviruses, which increases the infectiousness of viruses."
Two other patients are also called patient zero, both lab employees. They are Yu Ping and Yan Zhu.
Wuhan lab? Gain of function? Oh no, not another conspiracy theory proven correct! Recall that Twitter and YouTube actively censored users for discussing the Wuhan lab leak and the mainstream media called people who brought it up “crazy conspiracy theorists” guilty of “misinformation.”
According to Public, “When a source was asked how certain they were that these were the identities of the three WIV scientists who developed symptoms consistent with COVID-19 in the fall of 2019, we were told, ‘100%.’”

Alex Jones is trending because of his whole “gay frogs” bit. Sigh. Okay, let’s take this one on.
Democratic Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said in an interview that atrazine in water can alter the sex of frogs and that this exposure in young people should be a cause for concern. This has caused some to toss him in the “crazy pile” along with Alex Jones for saying that toxins in water could turn frogs gay.
But in fact, endocrine disruptors in water supplies CAN interfere with biological sex in some species.
In a University of Arizona study, fish immersed in water from a treatment plant had altered genes and five times more hormones of the opposite sex than their own. Scientists from the Potomac River found that smallmouth bass were “intersex” fish with males producing immature eggs in their testes. Water supply lawyer Robert Glennon says that this connection in humans is yet to be proven but “a profound concern.”
That is what RFK Jr. is suggesting. He does not say that chemicals in water are turning anyone transgender or gay. He is saying that this observation in some species should cause us concern for our own.
Opponents of RFK Jr. are now trying to toss him out as crazy too. What do you think? Is this crazy, or should we maybe give some thought to toxins in our water?
Is measuring BMI racist? That is what the American Medical Association suggests. The AMA is recommending that doctors start to focus on other body metrics because of the “eugenics” history of BMI.
BMI or body mass index is a measurement of weight versus height. It was developed as a way to measure the average height and weight of European men. The AMA says that this measure of health does not apply to different races and sexes.
Instead, the AMA suggests that instead of relying on BMI, doctors instead “measure a person’s visceral fat (considered to be the riskiest type that accumulates around the organs), the percentage of fat, bone, and muscle in one’s body, and genetic and metabolic factors such as abnormal blood sugar levels.”
They say that focusing on high BMI as an indicator of disease can be misleading because some Asian people are prone to disease even with low BMIs.
News By The Numbers
$300 million. That is how much Warner Brothers is set to lose on The Flash movie after a weekend box office flop. They should have stuck with Grant Gustin! We’ve been saying it all along and we’re happy to say now “We told you so!”
66 years. That is how long the FBI is asking a judge to keep sealed the laptop of Seth Rich. Rich was a Democratic National Committee staffer who was shot and killed on the street in Washington D.C. in 2016. No arrests were ever made, but now the FBI is asking for a 66-year delay in releasing the contents of his laptop.
$20 million. That is how much Spotify paid Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for podcasts they didn’t even do themselves, according to The Post. Guests said that they were interviewed by Markle’s assistants, with her voice dubbed in later. No wonder Spotify did not renew their contract.
Titanic is trending because a tourist submarine that explores the wreckage of the Titanic has gone missing. Five were on board. Trips on the submarine cost $250,000 and the submarine was supposed to go to 12,500 feet to explore the wreckage of the cruise ship that sank in 1912. Weather was not ideal when the submarine departed this weekend. A massive search and rescue mission is underway to find the Titan submersible pictured above.
PlayStation controller is also trending because the above-mentioned submarine was supposedly controlled with a PlayStation controller. Others say the controller was actually a 15 year old Logitech controller.
