Hallow

Happy Tuesday.

All the King's horses are fed up with tourists apparently. A woman was bit by one while posing for a photo at the Household Cavalry Museum and it caused her to faint. The sign clearly warned that the horses bite.

Lead: Kamala Locks Up Democratic Nomination

credit: ap

Vice President Kamala Harris says that she is "proud to have earned the support needed to become our party’s nominee." But she didn't earn it. She was not chosen by the American voters, she was chosen by Democratic kingmakers and donors.

On Monday, at least 2,200 delegates had pledged to support her nomination as the Democratic Presidential candidate, which is a majority of the 3,949 delegates. Now she will hit the road, she says, "traveling across the country talking to Americans about everything on the line. I fully intend to unite our party and our nation, and defeat Donald Trump."

What are her chances of doing that? Early polls indicate that she does not are much better than Joe Biden. ABC News says thatthe polls do not "mean that Harris will run notably stronger than Biden, only that she could." Several polls show Trump ahead of Harris by even more than he was leading Biden.

President Biden had agreed to debate President Trump in September but it is not clear if Vice President Harris will honor that commitment. Senator Vance says that he is "kind of pissed off" that he won't get the chance to debate her due to her promotion in the campaign. So who will he debate? Taking bets.

Secret Service Director Resigns

U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned this morning following a brutal Monday on Capitol Hill. The House Oversight committee grilled Cheatle on Monday over the multiple failings that lead to the shooting of former President Trump and the death of a civilian at his rally on July 13.

It made for some entertaining videos of truly pissed-off representatives pushing a comatose Cheatle but it also highlighted so many failures and much incompetence on her part. It's too much incompetence to be real life. For example, she refers to investigations but she herself has not visited the sight of the shooting. She could not answer whether the gunman acted alone. She has no solid timeline of events. She admits that the assassination attempt was “the most significant operational failure at the Secret Service in decades,” yet she still refused to resign yesterday. Something changed overnight after she slept on it.

The only answer that the American public recieved was that she doesn't know up from down. Chairman James Comer and Ranking Member Jamie Raskin have called upon her to resign and Florida Congressman Greg Steube says that he will file articles of impeachment.

There were answers from the Bethel Park School District about the alleged shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks. The district published this statement correcting online rumors. They say that he was never a member of the high school rifle team, he did not threaten violence against his high school, and was not a victim of bullying as far as they knew. According to the district, "the shooter excelled academically, regularly attended school, and had no disciplinary incidents, including those related to bullying or threats. Since graduating in 2022, the shooter earned an associate's degree in engineering science from the Community College of Allegheny County and worked as a dietary aide at Bethel Park Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center."

Fox News Lawsuits Dropped

credit: nypost

Hunter Biden suddenly dropped his lawsuit against Fox News on the same day that his father announced that he would drop his bid for re-election. That's odd, right? It would almost seem as though he were emboldened by his political position and now he is not.

The suit involved publication of explicit images and a six-part series posted online that included a mock trial of the younger Biden. The images are real and came from Biden's own laptop, which we all now know was real too. Hunter Biden's team dropped the suit although ABC News reports that they intend to refile it with new defendants. The suit always seemed like a crazy thing to pursue. Fox News could argue that the images were newsworthy and drag them even further into public consciousness. Why expose yourself (pun intended) further?

Also on Monday, a judge dismissed a case against Fox News by Nina Jankowicz, a former Biden administration official who was taken to task over her role on the Disinformation Board, not just by Fox but by the Internet. She had sued Fox News for hurting her feelings but a judge ruled that Fox's statements about Jankowicz were often "accurate, broadly speaking, or fell into the categories of opinion or statements that could not be disproven."

Jankowicz has made a brand about lecturing people about "disinformation." She crowdfunded her legal fees to sue fox and raised over $80,000. She says that she will appeal the ruling but in legal fees, $80,000 may not get her very far.

Mr. Beast In Trouble

credit: youtube

There are allegations that the transgender member of the Mr. Beast team has been caught sexually messaging a minor since the boy was 13 years old. He is now 20.

The boy says that the messages were not abuse but members of the Mr. Beast team say that this did happen and that Mr. Beast himself, Jimmy Donaldson, knew about it.

Why is this an important story? Because Mr. Beast has a massive following of young people and the transition of his team member Kris Tyson to Ava Kris Tyson was very influential and controversial. Tyson had a wife and child when he transitioned but the wife was made a trans widow after the transition and subsequent divorce. A trans widow is someone whose husband pretends that their male identity never existed and a wife loses the man she married to their new gender identity.

Tyson's accusations highlight that transgender is typically autogynaphilia associated with homosexuality. This is something that trans advocates would rather not admit. They prefer to present trans as an innate characteristic. The trans community is reportedly"currently melting down saying that Kris has set them back hundreds of years."

Mr. Beast took a lot of heat for keeping Tyson in the spotlight during his transition. What he does next will be watched by his 305 million YouTube followers and 30 million X followers.

$81 million. That is how much Kamala Harris raised in the first 24 hours since being endorsed by President Biden for President. According to her campaign spokesperson, that is "the largest 24-hour raise in presidential history" and 60% of donors were first-time political donors.
