A children’s prison in the UK allowed inmates to keep ferrets as therapy pets. But when the prison developed a rat infestation, staff reportedly began using the ferrets to hunt the rodents, leading to at least one incident in which a child watched a ferret maul a rat before a prison officer stomped the animal to death.
I guess you could say that went about as wrong as possible. An exterminator would have been the simpler option.

Lead: A Framework for Peace, and Fresh Threats
Photo credit: Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Iranian leaders say that a framework for a peace deal was made over the weekend in Switzerland and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz will be lifted during the 60-day negotiation period.
In a joint statement, leaders from Pakistan and Qatar said that “encouraging progress has been made including the creation of a mechanism for further technical talks.”
In other words, this is not a final peace deal. It is an agreement to keep negotiating toward one, with a target of reaching a final settlement within two months.
The statement says that “the mediating parties will continue to do their utmost to ensure that the negotiations continue to be conducted in a constructive atmosphere with the aim of reaching a final deal.”
A constructive atmosphere may be easier said than done.
On Sunday, President Trump threatened to “hit Iran very hard again, just like we did last week, only harder!!!”
The memorandum of understanding signed last week stipulated that both sides would “refrain from the threat or use of force against each other” and ensure “the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Lebanon.”
Yet in the days since, Israel has continued military operations in Lebanon and President Trump has publicly threatened Iran.
So there is now a framework for peace but it requires an inordinate amount of restraint from the U.S. and Israel.
The question is whether anyone intends to follow it.

Many Canadians are growing frustrated with Prime Minister Mark Carney after his G7 performance, where he appeared eager to please President Trump, praised the outcome of a costly and controversial war with Iran, and continued pushing Canada closer to the European Union while questions about national sovereignty linger.
