Happy Thursday.

A woman in Japan just married her AI boyfriend that she built on ChatGPT. Okay friend, but he won’t be taking out the trash or killing any spiders. As long as you know that.

Lead: The Shut Down Ends, Nothing Changes

The government shut down is over. Absolutely nothing was accomplished other than disrespecting government employees, many of whom reported to work without pay while politicians played theater.

It will probably happen again when this funding package runs out on January 30. Because our elected leaders are all just awful on the right and the left.

That’s it. That’s the take. That and a middle finger.

The Epstein Files Are Finally Coming to a Vote — and Everyone’s Nervous

The House of Representatives will vote on the bi-partisan Epstein Files Transparency Act in December after a discharge petition secured the required 218 signatures in the House on Wednesday. Most Democrats signed it but only four Republicans did, probably because President Trump has condemned the issue since taking office.

This now triggers the mechanism to compel the measure to the floor for a vote.

In plain terms: every member of Congress will now have to go on record either to protect the Epstein files or to release them to the public.

Which is exactly what the Trump administration has refused to do since President Trump took office. Attorney General Pam Bondi said that Epstein had no clients and only abused young girls on his own and kept pornography on his laptop.

That story collapsed under documents released on Wednesday. Emails released by Democrats show that Epstein colluded with reporters from The New York Times and USA Today to frame his relationship with President Trump.

They don’t implicate Trump and they don’t not implicate Trump. They continue to raise legitimate questions about the President’s relationship with Epstein and the President continues to shoot down the notion as a Democratic ploy. It is not. It implicates both sides of the aisle.

One exchange comes from one of Obama’s key lawyers Kathy Ruemmler. She says that she will “talk to boss” who is in town for UNGA, which is the United Nations General Assembly? Is that Obama? He was in fact in town that week and spoke at UNGA. The email also implies that Epstein has upcoming meetings with Peter Thiel, Larry Summers, former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Bill Gates (again).

Maybe more shocking is Epstein’s cozy relationship with the media.

There are emails between Epstein and New York Times journalist Landon Thomas warning Epstein that a journalist is looking into him. Thomas was one of the New York Times writers who wrote about Epstein’s 2008 conviction. Fast forward nine years and the two are now cozy friends??

The New York Times is the wooooooooorst!

Epstein had a similar relationship with USAToday. Journalist Michael Wolf was passing Epstein inside information about CNN’s Presidential debates and how Trump might be asked about him. Why would CNN pass along this information and why would a journalist help Epstein hide it?

Now it’s clear why the media has not reported the truth about Jeffrey Epstein.

Will we get this information ourselves due to this new House bill? Betting markets ticked upwards on this speculation today but they are still below 50%.

New Mortgage Scheme, Same Old Fed Control

The White House experienced backlash to its 50-year mortgage plan and the President was reportedly embarrassed by that. Now they are going back to the drawing board with a better idea: portable mortgages.

The idea is that homeowners could take the terms of their current mortgage and use it to buy a new home if they want to move. This would massively benefit all of those homeowners who secured low rates during the mortgage crisis and the pandemic.

This is a better idea, sure, but it still keeps the power of perverting the free market square in the hands of the Federal Reserve. A better idea would be to end the Federal Reserve!

What’s Trending?

Jack Schlossberg is trending because the only grandson of President John F. Kennedy announced that he is running for Congress in New York’s 12th District. Oh and he also announced that he is straight.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is trending because Nintendo released this official trailer.

This video by a Jewish American influencer is trending because it is just so verifiably obnoxious. She is trying to address Nick Fuentes’ fans and she does so by nagging them about their beliefs. The comments are really hard to look away from and the ratio between the likes on her video and Nick Fuentes’ response says it all. Also, she tells us in this post what her shade of lip gloss is, which makes this even weirder.

Zelensky Can’t Hide the Money Trail Anymore

Fox News says that if you think Ukraine is corrupt, it is because of a Russian disinformation campaign.

Wow. They really didn’t have to do much then, did they?

A major corruption scandal in Ukraine shows high level ministers embezzling millions of dollars. From who? Go look in the mirror and come right back.

That’s right, you!

Ukraine has been funneling aid money to enrich higher-ups. This news came from an anti-corruption agency. President Zelensky originally tried to control the investigation but failed. Now two ministers have resigned in the wake of this. President Zelensky remains unscathed so far.

It is worth remembering that when Senator Rand Paul tried to require an audit of Ukrainian aid, he was shut down and called a Russian agent.
