Lead: Biden Administration Censoring Social Media

Mark Zuckerberg admitted that Facebook has been acting as the federal government's censor and that he regrets that.

In a letter to the House Judiciary Committee, Zuckerberg admitted that Facebook complied with censorship demands from the Biden administration during the Covid-19 pandemic. He said that they requested censorship of even "humor and satire" and that in hindsight, he regrets it. He said that Facebook would not do that again today, knowing what they know now.

That's a tough one to accept. Had he allowed even relevant questions about lockdowns and vaccines, he would not have been so committed to shutting down information. He allowed censorship based on public sentiment and not science.

He also admits that the FBI made up a lie about the Biden family during the 2020 election and that Facebook bought that lie and censored it accordingly. Which leaves the lingering question: Who authorized this lie campaign about the Biden family during the Trump administration and why has no one been disciplined for this!?

Finally, Zuckerberg admits that his initiatives to allow people to find local voting information favored Democrats and he's sorry about that and won't do it again.

What do you think? Do you accept this mea culpa?

Key Trump Endorsements

Tulsi Gabbard has endorsed former President Trump. Her endorsement, along with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s could "make the election about issues again."

Gabbard said this week that "we as Americans must stand together to reject this anti-freedom culture of political retaliation and abuse of power." She is a strong anti-war politician and veteran and she has recently disclosed that she has been marked for surveillance by the federal government.

As journalist Michael Shellenberger put it, Kennedy represents important issues that the media does not want to discuss such as vaccine safety, food supply safety and the end of censorship. In fact, he is suing the Biden administration for censorship and a judge recently ruled that his case can continue. Watch his lawyer's summation of the case here.

Can Vice President Kamala Harris appropriately address these issues? Shellenberger points out that "she [offers] nothing in the way of a powerful story and little in the way of a concrete agenda. Her whole campaign has been that way. Since Harris announced her candidacy, her campaign emphasized that she was 'brat,' her opponents were weird, and her campaign was about 'joy,' vibes, and 'freedom.'" But not freedom in the way you want it. Freedom in the way she wants it

These endorsements could move the needle for Donald Trump but not with decided Democrats. A new poll shows that 93% of Democrats have a favorable opinion of Kamala Harris, up from 77% in June. So they didn't think much of her before she was the candidate but now they love her.

New Covid Emergency Vaccines

The FDA issued an emergency use authorization for a new Covid vaccine to address the Omicron variant KP.2 strain of SARS-CoV-2. Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech will make the shots.

There is no clinical trial data for these vaccines. Zero. None. But Pfizer and Moderna both said that testing in animals shows the shots trigger neutralizing antibodies so I guess the FDA is cool with that.

But what is the emergency?

Who knows. Covid-related emergency room visits are down, Covid-related hospitalizations are up from the summer decline but still far lower than last year's December peak, and Covid-related deaths are significantly declined. Plus no data shows that any Covid vaccine ever lowered any of these markers.

Also, KP.2 is no longer a strain of concern. As of this week, the CDC confirms that "KP.3.1.1, of the Omicron family, is now the predominant SARS-CoV-2 variant circulating in the United States, having overtaken its parent linage KP.3 and previous KP.2 variants."

So why in the world do we need a KP.2 Covid vaccine with no clinical trials? Who the heck knows?

New Setback for Electric Vehicles

Ford announced that it would focus on making hybrid vehicles instead of battery-powered electric vehicles (EVs) because EVs just don't sell and are not the most eco-friendly option when it comes to cars.

This makes sense business-wise but the federal government may cause a stink. New EPA rules will require 56% of all new cars on the road to be EVs by 2032. So what will happen if automakers don't want to make them because they can't sell them?

Ford noted that it will take a loss of about $400 million by canceling production of three EV SUVs but that is what they feel like they have to do. It is also noteworthy that Ford can make the hybrid cars in the U.S. while decreasing dependence on foreign imports and manufacturing.
