Larry Ellison is now the world’s richest man, having dethroned Elon Musk for the title. That’s nice for him I guess.

The Lead: The Assassination of Charlie Kirk Shakes America
The internet is reeling after the assassination of political commentator Charlie Kirk. The media will dismiss him as a far-right activist and Trump supporter — labels often used by people who never watched his content.
Kirk was an outspoken advocate for masculinity and family at a time when both are under constant cultural attack. He wasn’t violent. He thrived on debate, particularly on college campuses, where he believed young people should have their worldviews challenged. To many conservatives, and especially to young men, he was a voice that mattered.
In recent months, Kirk had begun to distance himself from Israel’s war in Gaza, despite years of support. Weeks ago, he admitted he feared for his life if he broke ranks. Now, with political chatter suggesting possible “foreign intelligence” involvement in his killing, the questions multiply.
Kirk was just 31 — a father of two young children. He was murdered in broad daylight, in front of hundreds of students, by what appears to have been a professional assassin. Though the FBI quickly detained a suspect, that individual looked like a decoy, enabling the real killer to escape.
Kirk was controversial, yes, but he wasn’t cruel. His death feels existential for many — a seismic moment that some are already comparing to the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the spark that set off World War I.

Senator Rand Paul is renewing his push to refer Dr. Anthony Fauci to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution after newly released internal emails appear to contradict Fauci’s sworn testimony to Congress about U.S. funding of “gain-of-function” research in Wuhan.
In the emails, Fauci — then head of the NIH/NIAID — acknowledges that Covid death tolls were debatable but instructs his staff to spin the numbers and then delete the email. He also orders aides to “get ahead of the science” and coordinate with the WHO to publish research aimed at reinforcing the narrative that Covid originated naturally, not from a lab leak.
Paul argues that this is not just spin, but perjury: lying under oath to Congress is in fact a crime. He insists the DOJ must investigate.
45 minutes. That is how long Prince Harry spent having tea with his father, King Charles on Wednesday. He reportedly did not see his brother Prince William. Every time Harry goes to the U.K., he secures another mainstream media interview to sell his books so expect this to be forthcoming on an American TV station near you.
10. That is how many hearings the House of Representatives has held on antisemitism in the last 20 months, including on on Wednesday.
Every year, FIRE grades major universities on the speech climate on campus. Shockingly, 166 of the 257 schools surveyed got an F for their speech climate.
This is sadly non-partisan. According to FIRE, “students of every political persuasion show a deep unwillingness to encounter controversial ideas.”
“For the first time ever, a majority of students would prevent speakers from both the left and right who express controversial views, ranging from abortion to transgender issues, from stepping foot on campus.”
What are we doing here? Universities are supposed to be open marketplaces of ideas. Students should expect to have their worldview challenged!
“More students than ever think violence and chaos are acceptable alternatives to peaceful protest,” said FIRE Chief Research Advisor Sean Stevens. “This finding cuts across partisan lines. It is not a liberal or conservative problem — it’s an American problem. Students see speech that they oppose as threatening, and their overblown response contributes to a volatile political climate.”
Poland claims Russia violated its airspace with drones on Wednesday, prompting President Trump to respond: “Here we go!”
There were no casualties, and Poland says it shot down the alleged drones. But were they Russian? According to RT, Russia’s chargé d’affaires in Warsaw, Andrey Ordash, said Polish authorities provided no evidence that the UAVs belonged to Russia — and noted the drones had actually flown in from Ukraine.
This wouldn’t be the first “oops” from Kyiv. Ukraine “accidentally” bombed Poland in 2022, killing two. At first, headlines screamed “Russian missile,” raising fears of NATO escalation. Only later did Polish and NATO officials confirm it was Ukrainian air defense fire gone astray. We’ve been here before.
Russian officials called the latest accusations are another attempt to blame Moscow — while at the same time offering “consultations” with Poland on the incident. The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed it carried out strikes on Ukrainian military-industrial sites in Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, and Lviv — all in central and western Ukraine. The ministry stressed: “No facilities in Poland were targeted.”
Geographically, that makes sense: those Ukrainian regions can be struck without crossing Polish territory. But it’s also possible that drones went badly off course and strayed into Poland.
In response, Warsaw invoked Article 4 of NATO’s founding treaty, which allows for urgent consultations if a member believes its security is threatened.
So why did President Trump jump so quickly to blame Russia — with no proof yet on the table?
