Lead: Don’t Fall for the UAE War Narrative

At least 15 missiles and drones were shot down in the United Arab Emirates on Monday, causing a apetroleum site to catch fire.

The UAE says that the attacks came from Iran but Iran has not officially confirmed that. Iranian officials did allude to the UAE on X on Monday, saying that “Events in Hormuz make clear that there’s no military solution to a political crisis. As talks are making progress with Pakistan’s gracious effort, the U.S. should be wary of being dragged back into quagmire by ill-wishers. So should the UAE.”

This brought about speculation that the UAE is ready to lead a coalition to overthrow Iran with the U.S. and Israel ready to support the effort.

That is pure fantasy. The UAE does not have the military power to defeat Iran.

Iran has been launching sustained missile and drone attacks across the Gulf for weeks now, targeting infrastructure, shipping routes, and U.S.-aligned partners in the region. These are not symbolic strikes. It is a warning to anyone who supports U.S. imperialism in the region and a demonstration of just how little U.S. protection offers.

The idea that the UAE would suddenly pivot from absorbing attacks to leading a regime-change war ignores basic reality. The UAE is a wealthy regional player with advanced defenses, but it is not a military superpower. Any serious attempt to confront Iran directly would not be an Emirati-led campaign. Maybe the U.S. wants you to think that—but it wouldn’t be. Don’t fall for it.

Any attacks on Iran would be a U.S.-driven war, with the UAE playing a supporting role at most.

Palantir’s Boom Is Built on Government Power

Palantir just put up numbers that will make your head explode. Considering they have software that can actually do that, you should probably pay attention.

The company reported 85% year-over-year revenue growth in Q1 and in the U.S., business is up over 100%. That’s not normal software growth. That’s something else entirely.

And where is that growth coming from? Your tax dollars mostly. Palantir has many government contracts that are never bid out to competitors, like this one:

“Palantir USG Inc., Palo Alto, California, was awarded a $480,000,000 firm-fixed-price contract for the Maven Smart System prototype. One bid was solicited via the internet with one received.”

Meaning they only wanted Palantir to do this. No other contractor was offered the job.

Because of this monopoly, Palantir raised its outlook for the coming year to $7.6 billion in revenue.

What we are watching is not just one company with massive earnings. We are watching the buildout of an entirely new layer of infrastructure that is centered on AI, surveillance, and decision-making at scale. And it’s being adopted fastest by governments.

Two weeks. That is how long we had until the Blake Lively trial against Justin Baldoni but alas, that trial is not to be. Lively has settled her case against Baldoni’s companies, which was smart for her because she was about to get pummeled. It’s sad for the rest of us that wanted to watch that happen though.

61. That is how many times the U.S. has bombed Somalia in calendar year 2026. The stated reason is to target al-Shabaab.

$400 million. That is how much the Michael Jackson biopic has made in just two weeks in theaters. It is expected to become the all-time highest-grossing music biopic worldwide.
