President Biden approved a nuclear strategy in March, according to The New York Times.
That might have been nice to know, right?
The plan apparently includes preparations for a “simultaneous nuclear war with Russia, China, and North Korea.” According to the Times, the plan is called “the ‘Nuclear Employment Guidance.'” It is updated every four years but this latest update calls for a major nuclear expansion because it says that “China’s stockpiles will rival the size and diversity of the United States’ and Russia’s over the next decade.”
Antiwar.com has a good rundown of who has what. So we are to live in a world where everyone is pointing weapons at each other and humanity will live on the brink of disaster. Anyone wanna walk that back before it’s too late?
Kamala Harris has promised to tax unrealized capital gains and increase tax on realized capital gains in her new economic plan.
This would be a doozy! It means that if you invest in something and it increases in value, you will pay a tax on that profit, whether you have sold the asset and received that profit or not. It also means that if you invest in something and sell it, you will pay almost half of that profit in taxes.
The kick in the pants is that you could not take a loss if your investment loses value before it is sold. It is a strategy that benefits the government but only in the short term because it would discourage investments and harm the economy, hurting us all in the long term.
It is unlikely Harris would ever pass this law while Congress is divided along partisan lines but it is still a terrifying prospect, especially during an already-bad economy.
Economist Carol Roth says this about this plan: “‘Unrealized capital gains’ is not a thing. Do not normalize it. Call it out for what they are proposing: unlawful seizure of personal property.”

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.‘s running mate Nicole Shanahan said recently that their campaign may merge with the Trump campaign because they have been thwarted and attacked at every turn by the Democratic Party.
This should be come as a shock after the way the Democrats thwarted Bernie Sanders’ campaign in 2016, the extent to which we learned about in the Wikileaks documents. It’s not a shock but it’s still upsetting.
Shanahan said that their campaign has been sabotaged at every turn by the Democrats and she regrets having campaigned for them in the past. She says that they are now seriously considering endorsing Donald Trump, which could bring their 4.5% of voters over to Trump, pushing him ahead of Kamala Harris, who currently leads in the polls by a hair.
This would be a loss for Americans’ hopes for a third party. Some say that the announcement is expected by this Friday.
A new report shows that the U.S. has lost close to 300,000 migrant children. Lost them!
The report comes from the Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General. The title says it all: “Management Alert- ICE Cannot Monitor All Unaccompanied Migrant Children Released from DHS and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Custody.”
This is not an issue of misplaced paperwork. These are children that the government knew of and now cannot find. The report warns that these missing children “are considered at higher risk for trafficking, exploitation, or forced labor.”
The Hill says that Republicans are “seizing” on this report as a political talking point. Shouldn’t we ALL seize on this and revolt against it? Come ON!
