If you can’t beat ’em, buy ’em. That’s what Kanye West seems to be doing by buying the social network Parler.
West was punished last week on Twitter and Instagram for a Tweet referring to Jewish people. So now he will put his eggs in another basket where he can, presumably, say what he wants.
“In a world where conservative opinions are considered to be controversial we have to make sure we have the right to freely express ourselves,” Mr. West said in the press release.
The deal is expected to close by the end of the year but no dollar amount was disclosed. West’s Parler profile can be found here.
