Palestinians Get A Seat At The U.N., But No Vote

Palestinians now have a seat at the United Nations General Assembly, even though they are not considered a full member of the body. They cannot vote but they can can submit proposals and amendments and sit among member states.

Israel is furious about this. They have called it a “reward for terrorism.” The Palestinian delegation called it “a historic moment for us.”

The UN will vote next week on a Palestinian draft resolution demanding Israel end “its unlawful presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory” within six months. It won’t mean much, the UN has condemned Israel’s attacks repeatedly and Israel does not have to do anything differently as a result.

The prosecutors for the International Court of Justice has asked judges to move quickly on his application for arrest warrants against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. Meanwhile, Israel is reportedly pushing U.S. lawmakers to get the South African judicial body to drop the case, according to newly released classified documents.
