The Twitter Files Fallout

Redacted is an independent platform, unencumbered by external factors or restrictive policies, on which Clayton and Natali Morris bring you quality information, balanced reporting, constructive debate, and thoughtful narratives.

The Federal Trade Commission is demanding all communication from Twitter regarding the Twitter Files. Many (including us) are calling this a retaliation for publishing damning government information.

The Twitter Files have been exposés that show how government organizations have worked with Twitter to censor speech for one political party. Now the FTC is asking for communication-related to owner Elon Musk, information related to layoffs, and asking the company to identify all journalists granted access to these documents. The FTC says that it is concerned about Twitter’s ability to “protect consumers’ information.”

The requests were obtained by the House Judiciary Committee and published on Tuesday. Musk responded to this on Twitter saying that it was “a serious attack on the Constitution by a federal agency.”
