President Biden will speak about Civil Rights today, a speech that was delayed in the wake of the attempted assissination of President Trump. Meanwhile, the Kamala Harris campaign held a Zoom meeting for 160,000 white women to instruct one another on how to be allies for BIPOC people without displaying white privilege.
All of these white people speaking for people of color as allies. It’s so great because they can’t be expected to speak for themselves or hear anything challenging because they’re delicate flowers, right?
Not really. This is neo-racism. It is treating white people a specific way because of their skin color, which is racist, and treating people of color as less than because of pity. It is racism disguised as compassion.
