Good news everyone! Coastal media elites will get their way! ABC says that it will resume Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday after suspending him for a few days over misstatements about the murder of Charlie Kirk.
But not everyone is on board. Syndicator Sinclair Media Group confirmed their 30 ABC affiliates will not air it, and it’s unclear if Nexstar will follow suit even though they were the first to refuse to carry the show last week. Advertisers and viewers may also stay away, even if ABC resumes taping.
Hollywood, of course, has declared this their Rosa Parks moment. Howard Stern said he could “no longer keep [his] mouth shut” in defense of Kimmel. He has literally never kept his mouth shut.
ABC explained:
“Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”
That framing suggests ABC acted independently, despite the liberal chorus insisting the Trump administration forced Kimmel’s suspension. Will they retract those breathless accusations? Not a chance.
In the end, Hollywood actors saved the job of a Hollywood actor. Their compassion for the working class knows no bounds.
