Americans do NOT want to go to war with Yemen. That is according to a new YouGov poll from December before the U.S. escalated war with Yemen over the last few days.

The poll shows that U.S. intervention in Yemen is viewed as wrong by a rate of 2 to 1. The only wars viewed more negatively than this are those in Vietnam and Iraq.

And yet, the U.S. is escalating with Yemen. The U.S. military claimed responsibility for more strikes against the Houthis in Yemen. The Houthis have said that they will continue to attack the Red Sea shipping route until Israel ends its attack on Gaza.

It is worth noting that this is a separate escalation from the civil war mentioned above. The U.S. backed Saudi Arabia in the Yemeni civil war between 2015-2022. That conflict led by the Obama administration killed at least 377,000 people.
