Senator Rand Paul is renewing his push to refer Dr. Anthony Fauci to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution after newly released internal emails appear to contradict Fauci’s sworn testimony to Congress about U.S. funding of “gain-of-function” research in Wuhan.
In the emails, Fauci — then head of the NIH/NIAID — acknowledges that Covid death tolls were debatable but instructs his staff to spin the numbers and then delete the email. He also orders aides to “get ahead of the science” and coordinate with the WHO to publish research aimed at reinforcing the narrative that Covid originated naturally, not from a lab leak.
Paul argues that this is not just spin, but perjury: lying under oath to Congress is in fact a crime. He insists the DOJ must investigate.
